Step 2
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test mechanical components and systems for advanced solar energy solutions, ensuring optimal performance and reliability under various environmental conditions.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using industry-standard software, adhering to design specifications and manufacturing requirements.
- Conduct feasibility studies, stress analysis, and simulations to validate designs and predict their behavior in real-world applications.
- Collaborate closely with electrical, materials, and manufacturing engineers to integrate mechanical designs seamlessly into larger systems and ensure manufacturability.
- Evaluate and select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes, considering factors such as cost, weight, durability, and sustainability.
- Participate in design reviews, providing constructive feedback and incorporating input from cross-functional teams to refine and optimize designs.
- Document design processes, specifications, test results, and assembly instructions thoroughly to maintain knowledge transfer and regulatory compliance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during prototyping, testing, and production phases, applying a problem-solving approach.
Step 3
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
- 3-5 years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably within the renewable energy, aerospace, or automotive sectors.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, Inventor) for part and assembly design, with a strong portfolio showcasing previous design projects.
- Demonstrated experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools for structural and thermal analysis.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, material science, and their implications on mechanical design and performance.
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and validation of mechanical systems, including the use of various measurement and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously and meeting tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with international teams and stakeholders. German language skills are a plus.
